Diwali Festival
Celebrated for more than 2,500 years, Diwali, or Deepavali, is the Hindu Festival of Lights, a five-day celebration symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. Derived from the Sanskrit term for row of lights, the festival involves lighting clay lamps (diyas), decorating homes with colorful rangoli and toran, wearing new clothes, feasting, as well as exchanging gifts.
